Rob Morris (1818-1888) was an American poet and Freemason, credited for creating the first ritual for what was to become the Order of the Eastern Star, a women’s Masonic organization. Morris was named Poet-Laureate of Freemasonry in 1884, a rare and distinct honor which hadn’t been given since the death of Robert Burns in 1796.
